PAINTING THE TOWN RED
In the spirit of camaraderie, culture, and all things Cajun, Ottinger Hebert once again took place in the University of Louisiana’s Paint the Town Red contest during Homecoming week. Paint the Town Red is a long-standing Homecoming tradition for UL, created in the late 1980s to get the community involved in the weeklong festivities. Businesses and schools show their support by decorating the interior and exterior of their buildings and performing skits. The theme of this year’s contest is “Embrace the Culture.”
Escorted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, the judges ride around in style, taking large RVs to tour the red town to determine a winner. In recent years, Ottinger Hebert has taken home three first place trophies from the skit portion of the competition as well as a few runner-up awards for building decoration. This year Ottinger Hebert took the gold again in the skit division, beating out seven other businesses. It is, of course, a team effort, and many thanks go out to the attorneys and staff of OHLLC for helping put together another success, but a special thanks goes out to Michelle Domas and her family. Michelle is the mastermind behind the firm’s Paint the Town Red campaigns and it would not be possible without her creativity and talent. Geaux Cajuns!
